Re-Treatment

Re-Treatment

In some cases, a root canal can become reinfected for several reasons: the restoration on the previously treated tooth may have leaked and caused the infection to pass to the tissues surrounding the root, or the canals may have been incompletely cleaned/filled during the treatment.

Root canal retreatment involves the removal of the previous restoration and root canal filling material, cleansing of the root canals thoroughly, and then re-filling and re-crowning/re-restoring the tooth.
